Are AI apps safe for kids?

Published

An AI app is safe for your child when it doesn't store their voice, collects the minimum data, blocks unsuitable topics, shows no ads, and gives parents consent and full control before the child starts. Before you subscribe to any app, ask these five questions and read its privacy page.

1. Do they store my child's voice?

Some services keep voice recordings. Ask clearly. In Jammul your child's voice is processed live during the lesson over an encrypted connection, and no audio recording is stored.

2. What data do they ask for?

The less data, the lower the risk. Jammul needs only your child's first name and age: no photos, location or phone number for the child. We keep the text of the conversation so the tutor remembers your child's progress, and you can delete it in one tap.

3. What happens if the talk drifts off-topic?

Children ask about everything. Ask: does the tutor have rules against religion, politics and frightening topics? In Jammul the tutor gently returns to the lesson, and if a child says they are scared or hurt, it reassures them and tells them to go to Mama or Baba right away.

4. Does anyone review lessons?

In Jammul every session gets an automated review after it ends. If a lesson is flagged as concerning, an authorised member of our team reads its text, only to check it.

5. Are there ads or in-app purchases aimed at the child?

Ads mean the child's data or attention is the product. Jammul has no ads, is funded by a subscription the parent pays, and the grown-ups' area is protected.

Where is the data processed?

Be clear-eyed: most AI services process data outside Saudi Arabia. Jammul is run by DRTUNING, LLC, a US-registered company, and its data is hosted and processed by providers outside the Kingdom; we honour your rights under the Personal Data Protection Law. Details are in our privacy policy.
